What impressed you to apply for the Columbia Weather Faculty in the Green Mountains Application?

Amanda: As I was looking for a meaningful way to shell out some of my summer season, I arrived throughout the Columbia Local weather School in the Green Mountains Program and immediately realized it was a excellent fit for me. Though I am not commonly the sort who would willingly location myself in a rural ecosystem, I knew that shelling out two months separated in the gorgeous land that is Castleton would be the ideal opportunity to discover about the environment itself. What was your favorite component or the most influential ingredient of the application?

Suler: The most influential ingredient of the plan was the community remaining surrounded by peers my age who ended up similarly curious and determined to beat environmental troubles produced a room where I felt encouraged. Even more, I relished and appreciated how open everybody was to master about new methods, suggestions, and perspectives. I could “speak my mind” and so could other individuals! It was refreshing to take part in productive discussions that ended up ungraded, natural, and important — anything I uncover missing in common high college curriculums.
